I’m marching in honour of my mum, Jean James.

This March I’m walking to raise funds for NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia (NECA) and all Australians living with neuroendocrine cancer, Australia’s 7th most diagnosed cancer.


NECA is the only Australian not-for-profit medical charity dedicated to neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). Their commitment to assisting patients, raising awareness, advocating for new treatments, and supporting Australian research is crucial.

This March I’m joining forces with other Australians to support the 29,350+ people living with NETs in our country.

Together, we can make a real impact on the lives of NET patients and work towards a brighter future.

Thank you for your donations and support,  it means a whole lot to me. 

When you think peaceful, calming walks marching it out honouring my mum, rewind its obsolete chaos, 2 kids running left and right talking 90 miles an hour, and 80% of the time an 18 month old puppy thrown in there as well. All but one walk Maddie has been walking with me even if I have gone on the treadmill she hops on and does the same distance as I have done.  I’m never alone doing these walks which is just how my mum would want it.   

The Why

Saturday 15th Nov
I am walking 40km’s in March 2026 in honour of my mum. 

My mum fought this cancer for nearly 6 years but unfortunately lost her fight in August 2025. I am walking to honour my mum’s fight and showing up every single day for her family. 

For those unaware after 24 years I was diagnosed with May Thurner Sydrome and a couple of related complications  to this. In march 2025 I had 2 stents put into my iliac vein.  I wear a compression stocking to keep blood flowing back to my heart as I have no valves left in my left leg vein.   The 40km’s is a celebration I can still do this and for my mum.

Good luck sorry we can’t afford more but I appreciate your efforts in raising awareness for this cancer good luck !!! It’s such a shame the lack of funding and support from even Medicare. Good on you
