I’m marching towards a brighter future for people living with neuroendocrine cancer!

This March, I am walking & cycling to raise funds for NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia - NECA and all Australians living with neuroendocrine cancer, Australia’s 7th most diagnosed cancer. I was diagnosed in November 2023 with NETs. There are 31,000 known patients & the diagnoses are increasing weekly.

In 2 years & 3 months, I have endeavoured to be educated in my space & proactive in my focus & approach to my health & wellbeing. I advocate at every opportunity for NECA & in support of our NEC/NETs' community within Australia. A c-space as I call it, affects every single dimension of a patient's life, no matter which way you choose to look at it. We need assistance to elevate awareness & distribute the support in every way possible & directly to our patients, carers, supporters, practitioners, clinicians & medical & holistic healing networks. 

I started my 1st fundraising campaign in March 2025, so I am now adding cycling to my walking efforts in March 2026, as I bought a vintage bike last year, to enjoy one of my childhood capers again & to keep moving forward!

A huge THANK YOU, wrapped in gratitude & a ribbon of appreciation for those who supported me in my March4NETs fundraising campaign for this year, through donating & messaging. I achieved just over my increased $target & fitness activity distance, so I am very happy with my efforts. In Feb & Mar, I have been delivering our professional & patient booklets & brochures to all my medicos, for them in turn to share with other colleagues & patients in our NETs community in SA. Part of the fundraising covers the costs of these printed resources & knowing how much they have contributed to me navigating my own health path, makes me even happier to know these copies will provide information & support to others in their quest to' be well & live well'. With a week to go with my March4NETs fundraising campaign, my original target was achieved, so I increased this & have only a small amount to get there. So, back on my bike & into my walking shoes & away I go daily to get there! My 'thank yous' are being beamed out to the Universe! KVX

Monday 16th Mar
Moving is magic! These last few days I have 'walked 5,000 miles' as the famous song says ... well, not really, but my calves & legs believe they have! I went away to getaway & I packed my walking shoes & an itinerary to visit lots of green spaces, which I did. With every step, I remember my choice 'to live well & be well' ... it's my mantra, it's my belief & I plan for it to be my life. None of us have a crystal ball, but we do have a life to live, potential to explore & a story to tell. Let's get on with it & March4NETs! Thank you for your support, in small & large ways! KVX
