I’m marching towards a brighter future for people living with neuroendocrine cancer!

This March I’m walking to raise funds for NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia (NECA) and all Australians living with neuroendocrine cancer, Australia’s 7th most diagnosed cancer.

NECA is the only Australian not-for-profit medical charity dedicated to neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). Their commitment to assisting patients, raising awareness, advocating for new treatments, and supporting Australian research is crucial.

This March I’m joining forces with other Australians to support the 31,000+ people living with NETs in our country.

Together, we can make a real impact on the lives of NET patients and work towards a brighter future.

Support my fundraiser for NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia today as I March4NETs!

Living with nets

Friday 20th Feb

Living with neuroendocrine cancer isn’t something I ever imagined would be part of my story. In July 2024, I was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine cancer, and in that moment, life split into two chapters — before and after.

Before the diagnosis, life was busy. Work, responsibilities, the usual day-to-day rush. I told myself I’d slow down “one day.” I told myself I’d focus more on my health “soon.” But cancer has a way of stripping away the illusion that we have endless time.

The diagnosis forced me to pause. It forced me to listen — to my doctors, to my body, and to what truly matters. Suddenly, the small things weren’t small anymore. School pickups, family dinners, beach afternoons, laughter in the living room — they became everything.

My wife became my anchor. Her strength, even on the days she was scared, reminded me what partnership really means. She carries more than anyone sees, and her love has been steady through every appointment, every test result, and every uncertain conversation. I don’t just appreciate her — I rely on her.

And my four children — they are my reason to fight, to stay healthy, to be present. Cancer has taught me that being physically there isn’t the same as being present. Now, I’m intentional. I listen more. I hug longer. I say “I love you” without hesitation. They may not fully understand the word “cancer,” but they understand love, and that’s what I want them to feel every single day.

Living with neuroendocrine cancer has changed my priorities. Health is no longer something I take for granted. Time is no longer something I assume I have. I focus on what I can control — my mindset, my lifestyle, and the energy I bring into my home.

Cancer didn’t just challenge me physically — it reshaped me emotionally. It reminded me that strength isn’t about pretending you’re not afraid. It’s about choosing gratitude anyway. It’s about choosing family. It’s about choosing to live fully, even in uncertainty.

July 2024 changed my life. But it also clarified it.
