Purchy Fam Bam – 100km for Brendan

Week 1 almost done !

A beautiful foggy start on the Esperance foreshore this morning for my ride.

So far I’ve clocked 28kms, and together our Purchy Fam Bam – 100km for Brendan team has already raised $1,500. We’re also sitting at #4 on the leaderboard, which is pretty incredible.

Neuroendocrine cancer is often called the “cancer you’ve never heard of”, yet more and more Australians are being diagnosed each year.

Fun fact: Neuroendocrine tumours are often called “zebra cancers.” Doctors are trained to look for common conditions first (the “horses”), so rare cancers like NETs — the “zebras” — can sometimes take years to diagnose. That’s why awareness and research are so important.

We're marching towards a brighter future for people living with neuroendocrine cancer!

This March, we're walking to raise funds for NeuroEndocrine Cancer Australia (NECA) and all Australians living with neuroendocrine cancer, Australia’s 7th most diagnosed cancer.
NECA is the only Australian not-for-profit medical charity dedicated to neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). Their commitment to assisting patients, raising awareness, advocating for new treatments, and supporting Australian research is crucial.

This March we're joining forces with other Australians to support the 31,000+ people living with NETs in our country.

Together, we can make a real impact on the lives of NET patients and work towards a brighter future.
